We recommend you start looking for your dress 12 months before your wedding date. Most dresses will need around 6 months to be produced and delivered to store, and then it is best to take into account 1 to 3 months for alterations with your chosen seamstress. 12 months therefore should allow you a bit of breathing space to find your perfect dress and give you a fully relaxed experience!

Your appointment at Sixpenny Bridal is truly all about you! We are determined for brides to enjoy their wedding buying experience, and to put the fun back into wedding planning. That’s why your appointment will be experience and feelings lead, and will focus on really understanding your vision and what you are looking for. When you arrive at the studio you will be offered refreshments and a chance to review our collection, picking some initial dresses that catch your eye. From there, over the next ninety minutes we’ll work together to find you your dream dress!

During your appointment, we completely close the studio, so that you have the ultimate private and exclusive experience. This however does also mean that we have limited appointment slots, and we find that the appointment fees reduce unfortunate no shows, meaning we can make sure we see as many of you lovely brides as possible! We really appreciate your understanding on this, and of course your appointment fee is redeemable against the price of your dress if you do purchase one with us on the day!

Clitheroe is a bustling town full of life, but this does mean it can get busy, especially on weekends, so we’d recommend leaving plenty of time to find parking ahead of your appointment. Our recommended car park would be Lowergate Car Park (BB7 1AD), which is the closest to Castle Street via the steps up through the courtyard. Another option would be Railway View Car Park (BB7 2EP), which is also just a short walk away.

We have a wide range of dress sizes between UK8 to UK22! There are also lots of tricks of the trade to help you try dresses on that aren’t your usual size - brides will often try many sizes on and we use clips to give you a great idea of how the fit will look once in your perfect measurements! We would also remind brides that bridal sizing can be a bit odd, so we recommend not paying attention to the number anyway, as your measurements are what we will work off when placing your order.

Our dresses range from between £950 to £2500, with most of our dresses being under £2000. All our dresses are beautiful no matter what the price, and it will often depend on materials, structure and embellishments as to where a dress will sit within our range. We will work closely with you to find a dress that works within your budget!

We can accommodate up to 3 guests within the boutique, and recommend you bring a select group of those who really understand your vision and who’s opinion you trust. We also kindly ask that no children are brought to appointments, as we find that although this our idea of a great time, its often not the same for children! We want to keep the day fully about you, and allow you to be able to really focus on your dress.

This kind of depends! For example, if you have a pair of shoes that you know you’re definitely going to wear, then by all means bring them with you! However we do have shoes you can borrow whilst in your appointment. We do kindly ask that you don’t wear fake tan, as we do need to protect the dresses from marks for the experience of future brides too. With this in mind we also kindly ask for lighter make up. For everyone’s favourite question, we recommend nude or light coloured underwear if you have it, but really whatever you feel comfortable in!
